Description

The high plateau between Danusa and Scära with its extensive, hilly landscape and a magnificent panoramic view is very suitable for snowshoe hikes.

By climbing the groomed winter hiking trail, they save their energy even in fresh powder snow. On the plateau they walk over snow-covered hills almost cut off from the rest of the world.

Geheimtipp

On the descent between the Scäri and Furna village, enjoy the panoramic view over the Prättigau and let your mind wander.

Sicherheitshinweis

Tour is not signposted and runs through clear terrain. Knowledge of maps is required. Not protected from alpine dangers, snow and weather conditions must be clarified. For tours away from marked and signposted areas, we generally recommend carrying safety equipment.

Do not confuse Scäri and Scära on the map!!!

Please note the wildlife protection zone and stay on the given route. Due to their misconduct, wild animals can be startled, which can have fatal consequences for the animals in winter.

Ausrüstung

Good footwear, working snowshoe equipment with poles, food and drink. Snowshoe equipment can be rented at Gasthaus Hochwang in Furna.

Directions

Walk along the groomed road from the village center in the direction of "Wintewanderweg" and follow it until you reach the Güfer. From there you walk along the cross-country ski trail to the Matta and turn left at the end of the sloping fence (wooden fence). Now follows an ascent in a southerly direction to the Höhsäss. After traversing the sloping slope on the Matta, they see southwards as far as Scära. In a very wide right-hand bend they now run over the high plateau and always keep about the height.

Continue walking until a long hollow (with several stables) opens on your left side with a view of Klosters. Through this hollow they walk towards Furna. The hollow opens up further and further and they get directly back to the village.
