Skitour auf den Girenspitz

The technically and physically easy route is incredibly beautiful in terms of landscape. The hilly areas offer a great contrast to the impressive Sulzfluh wall.

Description

From Rüti, follow the groomed path towards Partnun. At Ronenegg, cross the Schanielabach on the wooden bridge and ascend to Untersäss. Following the summer path, you reach the old huts of Mittelsäss of Alp Carschina. From here, the track leads westward over steep slopes to the broad Ostrücken of Girenspitz, which you follow to the summit. The limestone walls of Sulzfluh and Drusenfluh seem within reach.

If the sunny slopes are already crusty, good route choice still offers beautiful powder here. Those starting in Partnun ascend from the mountain farmhouses over the alpine pastures up to Obersäss. From there, continue westward towards the summit.

Attention! The descent is in the area of the ascent route. South of Girenspitz lies the Schlüecht wildlife protection area. Thank you for respecting nature!

Hidden Gem

The Girenspitz can be combined well with the route to Schafberg: Two wonderful ski tour summits right next to each other!
