Show all 5 images
The Hans Brühlmann circular route runs around Vättis. At the seven most beautiful viewpoints, a panel invites you to pause and observe: through the eyes of the painter and draftsman Hans Brühlmann (drawings from the years 1910 and 1911), through the eyes of the Vättis photographer Korinna Fröhlich (double exposure photographs from 2021), and with your own eyes.
Details
Description
The circular route commemorates the East Swiss painter Hans Brühlmann (1878–1911). The artist created about one hundred drawings of Vättis in his last years of life (1910/1911). At seven locations where Brühlmann drew Vättis, his drawings are contrasted with double-exposure shots by the contemporary Vättis photographer Korinna Fröhlich. The pictures and photographs are complemented by information about interesting facts from history (on the panel and on the website of the Vättis tourist association). As a fourth element, viewers are invited to look at the landscape and Vättis with their own eyes and to find differences between the drawings from 1910/1911 and the current situation. The visual journey is enriched by text about the artworks and the history of the village (also accessible via QR code).
