Hans Brühlmann circular route, Vorderbrüggler loop (stations 5 to 7)

Show all 4 images

The Hans Brühlmann circular trail leads around Vättis. At each of the seven most beautiful vantage points, a plaque invites you to linger and take a look: through the eyes of the painter and draughtsman Hans Brühlmann (drawing from 1910 and 1911), through the eyes of Vättis photo artist Korinna Fröhlich (double exposure photographs from 2021), and through your own eyes.
Details
Description
The circular trail commemorates the painter Hans Brühlmann (1878-1911) from eastern Switzerland. The artist created around one hundred Vättner drawings in the last years of his life (1910/1911). At seven locations where Brühlmann drew Vättis, his drawings are juxtaposed with double-exposure photographs taken by Vättis photo artist Korinna Fröhlich in modern times. The pictures and photographs are complemented by references to interesting historical facts (on the plaque and on the website of the Vättis tourist office). The fourth element is an invitation to viewers to look at the landscape and Vättis with their own eyes and to look for differences between the drawings from 1910/1911 and the situation today. The pictorial journey is enriched by text on the works of art and the history of the village (also available via QR code).
