Description

The hike begins in Flumserberg Tannenboden and initially leads above the settlement of Flumserberg towards the east. First, follow the signposts towards Bödem along a road between holiday homes, then towards Anggetlin on a promenade. While crossing the ski slopes of the Flumserberg ski resort and the Prodalpbahn, you always have a view of the mighty Churfirsten. After a small bridge, the holiday home settlement Anggetlin is reached, here the hike follows the paved road downwards in several curves. Now the path leads over meadows, through forest patches and streams down to Bödem. Here there is a beautiful picnic area by a pond. From here you enter the Schilstal valley, first still going downhill to Bruggwiti with the small reservoir. It then continues towards Wisen, first for a short time along the valley road, then on the left through alpine pastures. Shortly before Alp Wisen you reach the valley road again, which you follow again for a short distance to Steinbrugg (1163 m above sea level). The signpost shows for Halden/Wildenberg/Schönhalden that you must turn left after 400 meters after the bridge. At this junction begins the steep ascent marked red-white-red. The ascent takes about 1.45 hours and leads past the alpine hut on Untercheer to the beautiful Alp Sässli. Shortly afterwards, the highest point is reached at about 1800 m above sea level at Halden. The path now leads slightly downhill, first as a mountain trail and then as an alpine road, always with a panoramic view from Spitzmeilen to the Churfirsten. At Alp Wildenberg, with direct sales of alpine products, the destination is almost reached, only a few steps away is the Berghotel Schönhalden with its own mountain railway.

From the terrace of the Berghotel Schönhalden, you have a panoramic view of the Seeztal and the opposite peaks of the Churfirsten and Alvier chains.
