Horn circular hike (Ibex Trail)

The hike over the Horn is the classic in the Weisstannental. From Alp Unterlavtina it goes quite steeply uphill. Alpine anemones accompany us in late spring to the Rappenloch, where the first ibexes were released in Switzerland in 1911. From the Horn we enjoy the view of the valley and the peaks of the Grey Horns with the Pizol. It continues comfortably on the plain of Valtnov to the alp of the same name. Afterwards, the alpine path leads us through rock faces back down into the valley.

We look out for wildlife such as ibex during the circular hike.

We start the circular hike in Weisstannen. At the end of the village, follow the signs for Batöni. At Alp Unterlavtina we turn right towards Rappenloch. The trail now leads up to the Rappenloch and on to the Horn viewpoint at 1,841 m above sea level. Now we walk on the plain to Alp Valtnov. Follow the marking according to Vorsiez. From there, the path along the Seez brings us back to Weisstannen.
