Details
Description
Slightly below the village of Arosa starts the Isel trail, which initially runs along the south shore of the reservoir of the same name. The lake located in the Schiesshorn forest is fed by the Furggabach, the Furggaalpbach, and the Plessur. A short climb follows until the trail winds further through the Swiss stone pine-rich forest until you reach the starting point again.
If the snow conditions allow, the trail is already open from November as part of the "November peak." This allows you to prepare for the cross-country skiing season on the trail around the Isel reservoir. The trail in Isel is also well suited for beginners with basic knowledge.
Hidden Gem
The trail is well suited for beginners. So rent some skis and possibly a teacher and dare your first cross-country skiing adventure.

Public Transport
The Rhaetian Railway runs hourly from Chur to Arosa and back. At Postplatz - just a few meters from the station - the Isel bus waits for you, which goes directly to the trail. You can find the bus schedules at: arosa.swiss/langlauf
Travel Information
From Chur, follow the signs to Arosa. At the village entrance, turn left before the gas station and follow the signs to the reservoir.
Parking
Since there are only very limited parking spaces available at the reservoir, it is recommended to park the car in the Ochsenbühl parking garage. It is located on the left at the village entrance after the Sports and Congress Center. From there, it is just under 100 m to Postplatz (where the Isel bus departs).
