Popular hike from village to village, with refreshments. T1
Details
Description
The wide hiking trail between Sedrun and Disentis, or vice versa, is popular with leisurely hikers, joggers and Nordic walkers. There is always seating along the way and if you don't want to walk the whole route, you can shorten at three different stops to return to the starting point with the Matterhorn Gotthard railway.
We start hiking right away at Sedrun station, first a short distance along the railway line. After the small viaduct, which leads over the village stream Drun, we cross under the tracks. From there we are mostly north of the railway line, with the exception of the imposing viaduct in Val Bugnei. Passing an old village fountain, we make a small swivel via the Via Romana through the hamlet Bugnei to the chapel. On the sunny and mostly windless side of the valley we continue to Mompé Tujetsch where the valley opens up and we can see Disentis and up to the Flimserstein.
In Segnas we sit down at the Ustria Cresta on the sunny terrace and we are served a refreshment. Via Buretsch and Cuoz we reach the Disentis train station on roads and paths with little traffic. One last highlight is the pretty stone-lined path past the sports centre.
Geheimtipp
In Mompé Tujetsch there is a public toilet and a seating area for a picnic.
