A short circular route on the edge of Maloja, which with about 100 meters of elevation gain offers a good preparation for longer routes. You can also enjoy the views of the mountains and the village.

Description
If you are looking for a short hiking trail with some challenge, the Maloja - Palza circular route is just right. It starts at the parking lot at Giacometti-Sport, goes briefly uphill from the Chiesa Bianca towards Aela slope, then descends again towards the lake. You pass the Chiesa Bianca again on the way back to the parking lot. A real trial loop!
Hidden Gem
The Chiesa Bianca was part of the overall concept of buildings by the Belgian Count Renesse for Maloja and was built at the same time as other buildings such as the Palace Hotel and the Belvedere Tower.
Safety Note
If the path refreezes after thawing, it can be slippery.

Directions
Maloja, from the parking lot at Giacometti-Sport the path leads through Via Belagio. Shortly before the Chiesa Bianca it turns right uphill towards Aela. At about 1910 m the highest point is reached and the path descends again to the lakeshore. Upon reaching the lake, turn left and follow the lakeshore back to Maloja.
