Sunny valley hike on a wide winter hiking trail and a lightly trafficked pass road.
Details
Description
We start our route first with an airy ride on the chairlift to Milez, where we are right in the middle of the lively ski operations. The terraces of the Milez mountain restaurants and the Las Palas alpine hut tempt us to stop for coffee and cake. Afterwards, we start our hike on a wide, groomed hiking trail. We leave the pretty Alpine cottages behind and immerse ourselves in the silence of the winter landscape, initially flat and later gently sloping down to Tschamut. Along the way, we occasionally find a bench - we take our time.
From Tschamut, we hike back on the pass road to Dieni. There is almost no traffic because the Oberalp Pass is closed to car traffic in winter.
Hidden Gem
Those who do not want to hike the entire round take the train from Tschamut back to Dieni.
Safety Note
The hiking trail to Tschamut is NOT secured for sledders.
The road from Tschamut to Dieni is mostly free of snow.
Directions
