Beautiful alpine hike, with great views of the Cresta and the Signina group. The glacier mills lie on Alp Mora like a string of pearls. They are filled with crystal-clear water.

Description

This alpine hike leads you, accompanied by magnificent views of Crestasee and the Signina group, up to the so-called Strudeltöpfe on Alp Mora. 

Alternative: Alp Mora Bus

Access to Alp Mora is closed for private traffic. From July to September, a bus runs twice weekly (Wednesday and Saturday) from Trin to Purcs. 

Hidden Gem

Please note that there is no drinking water fountain on Alp Mora. It is worth packing enough water.

Pack your swimsuit, refreshment in the Strudeltöpfe on Alp Mora.

Safety Note

This route requires sure-footedness in places. It is only suitable for people without fear of heights. 1,535 meters of elevation must be mastered downhill.

Always supervise children.

Equipment

Good hiking boots are highly recommended.

Always carry rain protection with you.

There are no catering options along the entire route. A packed lunch for the way is definitely advisable, as well as a cooling drink from the backpack.

Directions

The local bus Flims Laax Falera takes you to Bargis, where you start ascending to Alp Lavadignas. Along massive rock walls, you continue hiking to the viewpoint Plaunca Dira, and soon after cross the high valley Muletg. Passing the avalanche protection Platt' Alva, you reach the Val Maliens with its unique basins, the Strudeltöpfe. If the water level allows, you can refresh yourself here up at 2,100 meters – then it goes downhill on the old alpine path to Trin.

Public Transport

By post bus from Chur, or the local bus Flims Laax Falera. From the Flims Dorf post office with the local bus to Bargis.

Travel Information

This is a private road – no driving allowed.

By car on motorway A13 from Zurich, exit 18 towards Disentis/Mustér/Ilanz/Flims.

At the post office Flims Dorf turn right uphill to Fidaz.

Parking

Parking lot Fidaz Waldrand has 30 parking spaces. After that, driving is prohibited.
