Details
Description
Starting at the train station in Disentis, we head towards the village church, then past the wool carding mill to the Sontga Gada chapel. Down by the Rhine, in Cuflons, there is a nice fire pit if a barbecue lunch is planned. After a bridge, whose foundations date back to Roman times, we follow the rushing Rhine with gentle ups and downs. Occasionally, we allow ourselves a deep look into the stream bed where glacier kettles filled with clear water sparkle.
Arriving at Fontanivas, the children will be thrilled by the water playground. Before completing the round, we get an ice cream from the kiosk at the campsite.
This gives energy for the short climb to Salaplauna. If necessary, we push a few meters. Once at the top, the final highlight follows: the stone-bordered path with a view of the village and the monastery.

Safety Note

Directions
From Disentis train station, we start heading towards the village church. After the church, we turn left, following the signpost "Horticultura." At the height of the Sontga Gada chapel, a wide hiking trail leads down to Cuflons. To the right of the bridge is the fire pit. After the bridge, we turn left. We go under the Lukmanier pass road and follow it for one hundred meters towards Disentis. At the access road to the campsite, we go down. We cycle on the right by the lake and along the Rhine until the junction with the hiking trail, which leads up to Disentis on the left. After the stone-edged path, we cross the bridge, turn right. We meet the access road to Cavardiras and turn left to the train station.
