Details

Description

Peter's Medium Trail starts moderately in slightly hilly terrain before preparing for the highlight: the climb to the lookout mountain Garmil. From here, on clear days, there is an extensive view all the way to Lake Constance. But the nearby panorama with the Churfirsten, the Sarganserland, and views towards the Bündner mountains also compensate for the effort.

Hidden Gem

Trailrunning workshops take place at Pizol on various dates, accompanied by certified running guides and professional athletes.

Safety Note

Check the weather report, as the weather in the mountains can change rapidly.

Equipment

Standard trail running equipment (trail shoes recommended everywhere). Bring enough food and drink (self-catering principle).

Directions

From Wangs, we take the gondola to Furt. From Furt, the route goes via Wasserwald towards Fürggli. The first section is only slightly hilly, which is ideal for warming up. Then the path zigzags up to Fürggli. The great view towards the Churfirsten chain makes up for the initial effort. Afterwards, we descend towards Untervermii. From there, the trail follows a forest road to Obervermii and then a mountain path to the highest point of the route, the Garmil. On the Garmil, we are rewarded with a wonderful view over the entire Pizol area and the Rhine Valley, extending all the way to Lake Constance. Next, an exciting trail awaits us, leading to the old Alp Gaffia. From the old Alp Gaffia, we walk below the chairlift mountain station in the direction of Furt. Passing the Berghotel Gaffia, the path continues downhill towards the route's destination. At one of the restaurants, we can refresh ourselves with food and drink before taking the gondola back down to Wangs.
