Piz Cam is not a particularly high peak, but thanks to its location it offers a very beautiful view of the Engadin lakes, the Bergell valley and the opposite peaks of the Albigna and Sciora groups.

Description
The small village of Roticcio is located at the entrance to Val Furcela, a small but very scenic valley. The Furcela crossing takes you into the Val da Cam, a gentle valley basin between Piz Duan and the less mighty Piz Cam. The last part of the ascent to the Piz Cam is without a path.
Hidden Gem
It is possible to return to Roticcio by following a circular route through the Val Maroz and the village of Casaccia. Those who choose this solution, from the Furcela Pass must descend in the direction of the Val di Cam, meeting shortly after the path that climbs from the Val Maroz.
Safety Note
The last part of the ascent is not marked, be careful!

Directions
We start the ascent on a small road that winds up over the meadows behind Roticcio. After a short while we meet the footpath that climbs in a direct line to the huts of Nambrun (1611 m). For the next 300 meters, the path climbs northwards on the pasture of Alp Furcela before crossing the slope to the west at around 1900 m. The trail continues northeast on a ridge to a large building. Heading north-west, the trail passes underneath the pre-summit of the Pizzi di Maroz and descends over a small pass into the Val da Cam.
Here we meet the path from the Val Maroz and follow it for about 700 m into the Val da Cam. We then climb to the left, following the flat ridge up to the crest. We walk leisurely and with the best panoramic views along the height of the broad ridge, overcoming a few small saddles and reaching the southern edge of the ridge and thus the summit of Piz Cam (2634 m).

On the way back we have several options. Either we take the same route. Or we follow the hiking trail southwest to Plan Lo and can then decide whether we want to descend to Roticcio, Vicosoprano or Soglio. Or we can head north-east and descend through Val Maroz to Casaccia.
