Description

At the western village exit of Sent, the wide drive crosses a bridge and then gently ascends along the forest edge. From the next junction, it goes relatively flat along the sunny slope westwards, past the organic farm Bain Tuffarolas. Since the hiking trail from here runs along the sledding track, caution is advised for oncoming sledders. One then comfortably masters 285 meters in altitude in a wide zigzag in the sun with views of the valley floor and the snowy peaks of the Lower Engadin Dolomites to Vastur. The "Restorant Vastur" offers a place to stop and a scenic sun terrace. Those who no longer want to walk back the three kilometers to Sent can rent a sled in the restaurant or bring their own sled on the hike, as the rapid sled ride is worthwhile. With prior reservation, groups of 6 or more can enjoy fondue or spaghetti evenings in Vastur.

Hidden Gem

In Sent, it is worthwhile to take a few minutes to stroll through the village with its wide squares and look up to the sky. The famous Sent gables date back to the late 18th century when many villagers improved their economic situation abroad (mostly Italy and Austria) as confectioners, thus shaping the village's atmosphere.
