Details

Description

We walk from the valley station of the cable car in a few hairpin bends through a pretty birch forest to the Muntatsch viewpoint. The children are already very excited about what awaits us at the Clavaniev stream and it is not far away. Even before we cross the stream, we see them: the many, colourful and original water wheels! With a lot of love, diligence and patience, a local has built an entire system with water wheels over the course of a few years. The wheels turn and figures of various kinds move: flag throwers, craftsmen and some others. We leave ourselves enough time to marvel and observe before we hike through the hamlet of Clavaniev in an arc back to the valley station.

Hidden Gem

This tour can also be done in rainy weather.

Safety Note

Children must be supervised, because the stream carries a lot of water at times

Directions

We hike from the valley station of the cable car in an easterly direction past the Hotel Catrina Resort to Muntatsch. Here a path branches off to the right, into the Val Clavaniev. Right next to the Clavaniev stream are the water wheels. On the way back, we cross the hamlet of Clavaniev in a southerly direction and before the main road we turn right. So we reach the valley station again on a side road, past the Catrina Resort
