Description

Hidden Gem

On the section from Maschgenkamm to Zigerfurgglen you will see numerous information steles about the UNESCO World Heritage Tectonic Arena Sardona.

A short detour to the Madseeli is recommended.

Equipment

Day hiking backpack (approx. 20 liters) with rain cover, sturdy and comfortable shoes, weather-appropriate and hard-wearing clothing in multiple layers, telescopic poles if necessary, sun and rain protection, provisions and drinking water, first aid kit, pocket knife, cell phone, headlamp if necessary, maps

Directions

From the Maschgenkamm you hike along the Ziger circular trail to Zigerfurgglen. From Zigerfurgglen, the trail continues to Calans. Continue below the two mountain peaks of Magerrain and Wissmeilen in the direction of the Spitzmeilen hut. The Spitzmeilen area is wide, idyllic and beautiful.

Take a break in the cozy SAC hut before setting off on the way back.

Travel Information

Take the highway exit Flums/Flumserberg and follow the main road in the direction of Flumserberg Tannenboden.

Parking

Public parking spaces available at Tannenboden.

The parking spaces are chargeable from 07.00 to 17.00. From 17.00 to 02.00 you can leave your car free of charge.

After 02.00 to 07.00, night parking is prohibited. There are plenty of parking spaces at night in the Tannenboden parking garage or in Tannenheim.

The night parking lot can be used for a fee, but camping is prohibited.
