Details
Description
The circular route starts at the Obersee, which is located at 1,735 meters above sea level. After a flat kilometer, it goes uphill along the Eichhörnliweg. A highlight on the way up is the mountain oasis of the Tschuggen Grand Hotel, designed by star architect Mario Botta. The winter is especially lively at the Tschuggenhütte with KuhBar – the après-ski meeting spot in Arosa par excellence. It is not far now to the middle station of the Arosa-Weisshorn aerial cableway, which forms the highest point at 2,010 meters above sea level. The view then extends to the Arosa Bear Land after passing it. Through the Arlen forest, the route then descends to Maran, passing the Maran dairy and the Hotel Hof Maran, offering a wonderful view of the cross-country ski trail and the golf course. From Scheitaboda to the beginning of the so-called home run slope, the route is almost flat. Then it goes partly steeply down to the Obersee and thus back to the starting point.
