Description

From the former smuggler village of Viano, the trail continues with a gentle ascent for about 30 minutes until reaching the border at the former customs house, which can be seen from afar perched on a hill. Then, the real smuggling trail winds down, always slightly shaded, through the forest. After the descent through the impressive vineyards, the fashionable Tirano is reached. From here, the Rhaetian Railway train can be taken to return to Switzerland.

Attention: the route crosses through Italy, carry identity documents with you.
