Description

There are several pretty churches and chapels on the way from Pigniu to the valley plain of the Vorderrhein. The Via Suvorov ends in the first town on the Rhine, Ilanz, where the weakened Russian troops arrived on October 7, 1799.

We start in the small village of Pigniu and hike initially along the little-used main road and later along the alpine road up to Darpagaus. The view from this corn pasture is brilliant. A leisurely walk along the alpine road down to Rueun, which is almost on the valley floor. After the village, a leisurely descent awaits you over a few meters of hiking trails and large sections of side roads.
