Description
Solitary hike with beautiful views into the Fanella valley / rear Peil valley, of Wenglispitz, Chilchalphorn, Fanellahorn and Fanell Glacier.
Hidden Gem
Enjoy a coffee in the sun at the Peil kiosk. Or fresh goat cheese from the neighboring goat alpine pasture. Always a special experience: the goats returning to the alpine pasture between 4 and 5 p.m. Return journey to Vals is also possible by hiking bus.

Surefootedness and no fear of heights are required.
On this hike, you must expect to encounter cows with calves.

Equipment
Solid, rainproof, warm clothing. Robust mountain or trekking shoes. Gloves, hat, sun protection. Hiking poles, food and drinks from the backpack, first aid kit, topographic map, altimeter, compass, mobile phone, flashlight.
Directions
From the car park of the Restaurant Zerfreila to Guraletschsee. East of the lake without a path, but marked, ascend the steep slope below the Guraletschhorn about 150 meters in altitude, then head south over scree to the gap east of the Fanellahorn summit, the Fanellgrätli (2712 m). The descent into the Fanella valley proceeds on a steep slope without a path, but marked, across alpine pastures to Stafel Fanellalap and from there on a path to Peil to the kiosk. Then onto the Peiler road and along it back to Vals.
