Alp Mora Whirlpools

Strudeltöpfe Alp Mora
Streams and rivers have modelled a picturesque gorge here!

Description

Arranged like a string of pearls, the whirlpools on Alp Mora form veritable bathtubs. Sand and gravel in the water have been grinding the grey limestone ridges of the stream for thousands of years. The rocky ridges stem from the Jurassic period and already have a few million years on their clocks.
