Art exhibition Hotel Castell

Art is an integrated and living element in the Castell. The Castell alone is a small work of art. Paintings, objects, permanent installations, actions and the Art Weekends contribute to this distinctive ambience.

Ruedi Bechtler, owner of the Hotel Castell, has personally selected every single work of art or often staged them in close collaboration with the artists. As a lover, profound connoisseur and enthusiastic collector of contemporary art, he has made the Castell a unique place of inspiration. The renowned collection houses works by renowned artists such as Roman Signer, Fischli-Weiss, Pipilotti Rist, Carsten Höller, Steiner-Lenzlinger, Martin Kippenberger, James Turell and many more.

Art tour

From summer season 2021:
On Thursdays at 5 p.m. there will be a guided art tour (registration before 2 p.m.) followed by a visit to the "Skyspace Piz Utèr" by James Turrell.
In addition, art videos will be shown daily from 5 p.m. opposite the reception.
