The Chapel of St. Francis is located between Rueun and Pigniu. The chapel is not freely accessible.

Description

The building: Located on Panixerstrasse, 1642. An east-facing, baroque building with a wide nave and a square choir, both vaulted by barrels. West entrance with granite walls. The open, brick belfry does not sit on the gable, but on the southeast corner of the nave. On the choir vault and choir arch remains of a painting, 1640. By the same hand as in the chapel of St. Mary Magdalene.
Furnishings: At the altar, made of wood, the large, semicircular painting dominates, which almost reaches the vault and left no room for a richer gable. It is flanked by fluted columns and crowned by the Capuchin emblem. The picture shows the granting of indulgences for the Portiuncula Chapel by Christ to St. Francis and is signed. The composition is built in the spirit of the High Baroque in a steeply ascending diagonal.
Bell with inscriptions, 1793.
