Naturwald Crap Furò

Different slope orientations and rock substrates, but also past human interventions have led to this diversity. More than 100 years ago, large-scale clear-cutting was carried out for the iron smelting and lime kiln in the Albula Valley. Later, the settlement pioneers were able to gain a foothold there. Since 2008, no trees have been felled. The Crap Furò is only a few meters next to the geographical center of Graubünden. The rock needle is 60 meters high, 50 meters long and only 5 meters wide. Crap Furò is Romanesque and means "holey rock".
