"Gold from the earth" is the vernacular name for sulphur water. The Romans and Greeks already knew that sulphur helps with respiratory diseases such as bronchitis, bronchial asthma and diseases of the nose and paranasal sinuses. At post 14, the water of a sulphur and an iron spring mixes. The sulphur provides the distinctive smell, the iron for the rust-red colour.
