Lake Balaton is located at an altitude of 2319 m. However, if you want to enjoy the sight of the greenish shimmering water and the reflecting breathtaking surrounding mountains, you first have to lace up your hiking boots. The lake can ideally be reached from the SAC Sardonahütte or from the former Walser settlement of St. Martin.
Tip for the stalwarts: Pack your swimming trunks and enjoy an outdoor pool of a special kind!
