Taminaschlucht
The Tamina Gorge behind the Old Bad Pfäfers is the place where the healing 36.5° C warm thermal water springs from. It is the origin of the centuries-old spa history of Bad Pfäfers and of Bad Ragaz.

Description

A few meters away from the Old Bath Pfäfers is the entrance to the mystical thermal water spring gorge. The 450-meter-long, safe path leads in the last section via a tunnel into the rock interior, past the small thermal water fountain to the spring water grotto. The rock walls in the gorge tower up to 80 meters high along the way. Finally, in the spring water grotto, you can experience firsthand how around 8,000 liters of water per minute gush out of the rock from Europe's most productive acratotherm. Researchers assume that the water seeps into the Tödi or Sardona area. In the process, it is heated until it reaches the surface again in the Tamina Gorge after more than 10 years with a constant temperature of 36.5 °C.
