In the 12th and 13th centuries, flocks of shepherds and cattle breeders emigrated from the upper Valais and settled parts of Graubünden. Around Medergen near Arosa, the Walsers, as they were called, left their animals on the pastures in the summer and built a collection of alpine and residential buildings that has been well preserved to this day.

The ambulance base is operated by Gesundheit Arosa AG and is operated on behalf of Rettung Chur. Our experienced team, consisting of dipl. HF paramedics, transport paramedics and paramedics in training, carry out up to 400 missions a year in the municipality of Arosa. The ambulance is equipped according to the latest standard. Injured or sick patients can thus be optimally cared for at the scene and transported to a hospital for further treatment.
