Cavaglia is an ideal starting point for wonderful hikes or bike tours in untouched nature. A visit to the glacier garden completes the high alpine experience.
Cavaglia is located on a plateau formed by the glacier at 1703 m above sea level, between two steep steps in the upper part of Val Poschiavo.
A few minutes south of Cavaglia is the unique glacier garden «Marmitte dei Giganti» with the huge glacier mills and the gorge path "Orrido di Cavaglia".
An imposing series of stately buildings from the 2nd half of the 19th century border the historic village centre of Poschiavo to the south. The builders of these residences were returned emigrants, mostly Protestants, who had come to wealth as confectioners with coffee houses in the great metropolises of Europe.
The Station Ospizio Bernina on the Bernina Pass forms the highest point of the Bernina route at 2253 m above sea level and is located directly on Lake Bianco.
The picturesque mountain lake is located in the Val da Camp, which is listed in the Federal Inventory of Landscape and Cultural Monuments of National Importance.
Alp Grüm is located at 2,091 m above sea level, along the bank of the first slope of the Valposchiavo. From this point you can enjoy an unmistakable view over the entire Valposchiavo, which extends to neighboring Italy. In 1910 the Bernina Line of the Rhaetian Railway was built there. The station building is built of stone ashlars and is also a restaurant and hotel. It opened in 1926.
