The Abou Samra Quintet from Lucerne presents an energetic mixture of jazz, Arabic classical music and folk music. Own and newly interpreted works create a pulsating and touching atmosphere. The Rhaeto-Romanic guest singer Chiara Jacomet blends in elegantly with her powerful and dark-velvety voice; sometimes jazz diva, sometimes electropop muse or singer-songwriter.

The Gabriele Pezzoli Trio around the pianist of the same name from Lausanne plays their own compositions, complemented by selected pieces from contemporary jazz. The sound of the ensemble is shaped as much by the community within the band as by the individual expression of the three musicians. The trio has its fourth album "June", which will be released at the beginning of 2025, in its luggage.

The trio - nominated for the German Jazz Prize in 2023 - plays with influences from classical modernism, minimalism and modern jazz. Intuitive approaches are combined with clear ideas about mood and timbre. Complex harmonic and rhythmic structures, subtle and powerful moments as well as melodic points of contact result in a personal aesthetic.

The jam session allows professionals and amateurs alike to present themselves, try out new things and cultivate the fun and joy of playing together without much concert pressure. At the same time, they promote networking and dialogue on an artistic and interpersonal level. JazzChur also cultivates the long-standing jazz tradition - which can be experienced by musicians and audiences alike.

The house band opens the evening with a small concert. During the subsequent jam session, the members of the house band accompany the participating musicians or make room at their instruments.
