Butterfly Excursion

On the excursion we will take a closer look at the butterflies. A butterfly is a butterfly that is mainly active during the day. In order for the participants to study the butterflies in peace, the different species are caught and released. You can try to identify the species yourself. At this time of year, the butterfly fauna is still manageable - if the weather is nice, 20 to 30 species can be expected. On the way we try to find the caterpillar food plants of the butterflies. There are individual butterfly species whose caterpillars develop on a single plant species. However, most are more flexible and will eat all plants of a genus or family. During the excursion, the needs of the butterflies will be explained, so that afterwards you will get a feel for the habitat and know where to look for butterflies in the future.
