In it, Mahlknecht, who worked for the travel journal of the FAZ, describes the "tourist longings and disillusionments" in a very entertaining way and shows perspectives beyond growth debates and overtourism using the examples of Switzerland, Tyrol and South Tyrol. The book is easy to read, it depicts the complexity of Alpine tourism in clear words and many examples, and it is thought-provoking.

Cast
Selma Mahlknecht is a writer and theatre woman who lives in the Engadine (CH). She has been dealing with tourism for many years in essays, books and plays. Her work has received several awards. Most recently, in 2023, the family saga "Fö – Zernezer Feuer" was published as a multi-generational novel about Zernez after the devastating village fire of 1872.
