Michèle Walther plays violin and live looping music by Piazzolla, Corelli, and her own compositions. Her pieces are an innovative mix of jazz, classical, and minimal music; her music is a journey of the soul and evokes deep emotions. The violinist, born in Switzerland and living in San Francisco, creates highly individual and deeply melodic original compositions that utilize electronic live loops, effects, and even her voice. "A rare combination of classical precision and improvisational skill, showcasing a true feel for melodies." “Most impressive was her ability to improvise, exploring the inventive potential of every selection she played.” (San Francisco Examiner) Michèle Walther has toured the USA, Mexico, and Europe, and has extensively performed in California, including at the SF Jazz Center. Her compositions can be heard in the film soundtrack "Not Without Us" and have been broadcast on PBS. She has performed with artists such as Jethro Tull/Ian Anderson, Joe Lovano, Gloria Estefan, Mark Feldman, and many others. Her music can be heard on the albums "Colibri,""orange heart" with LaMuseMent, Alchemist Quintet, and "Introductions" with Resonance. Michèle Walther, violin and live looping
