Carla Boregas is a Brazilian musician, composer and sound artist based in Berlin. By fusing synthetic and acoustic instruments and techniques, Boregas creates sonic scenarios driven by an invisible force, where the sense of presence and discovery lies between density and subtlety. Her work includes composition, improvisation, performance, sound installation and radio art and aims to place listeners in different subjective perspectives of time and space, evoke memories and reflect on the relationship between nature and humans.

Marc Berman (violin) and Jamasp Jhabvala (accordion) form the duo Cachalot and look back on years of cooperation. Between 2006 and 2021, they shaped projects such as The Raspoutine Smoked Band, Convulsif and Paracelze, in which they combined pop and experimental culture. Even though Cachalot tends towards experimental music, the influences from different folk music genres and genres are unmistakable. They transform the sounds of their instruments into minimalist, electronic soundscapes that are permeated by long, flowing melodies and short, intense sound waves.

The energetic playing of accordionist Tizia Zimmermann ranges from barely perceptible noises and quiet beats to powerful, voluminous sounds and nervous, angular tones. She illuminates her instrument improvisatorily from different angles. Sometimes the sounds stand naked in the room, sometimes they overlap to form an orchestral sound. It contrasts thriftiness with abundance, control with loss of control.

Leander Albin explores the intermediate worlds of sound – from spherical landscapes to danceable rhythms. With bass clarinet, avant-garde vocal techniques and synthesizers, he creates moods that touch emotionally and lead the listener on a sonic journey of discovery. His lyrics, often about interpersonal relationships, use unusual linguistic imagery that is rare in Romansh music.
