Drei Tage durch die Tektonikarena Sardona

3-day tour: Saturday 16 – Monday 18 August 2025

On this tour, we will discover the fascinating Sardona tectonic arena over three days. We marvel at the various landscape and natural elements of this region: the Flims landslide, the beautiful whirlpool pots of Alp Mora, the lonely plateaus under the Piz Segnas, fens of national importance and the barren stone desert around the Laaxer Stöckli, to name just a few.

Day 1

The exact meeting point in Trin is yet to be announced. This will be tailored to the public transport connection of the participants. In Trin we take the shuttle bus almost to Alp Mora. There we will visit the beautiful whirlpool pots before we take the high trail towards Bargis under our feet, where a cozy inn welcomes us.

Day 2

After breakfast we make our way over the Flimserstein to the foot of the Piz Segnas and marvel at the beautiful plateaus / fens that spread out there. We will also catch a glimpse of the famous Martinsloch. And tonight we are again greeted by a cozy inn and a fine dinner.

Day 3

The crowning glory of this three-day tour is the crossing of the Laaxer Stöckli. Technically, this is not difficult, but a head for heights is required. The effort is rewarded with a beautiful view over the Glarus and Graubünden regions. And the barren stone desert at the foot of the Laaxer Stöckli, which shines in so many colours, is also a special experience.

Attention: the tour takes place in all weathers! The two mountain inns can also be reached by public transport. If the weather conditions do not allow the above multi-day tour, we may take public transport to the individual accommodations and make smaller tours from there.
