Eröffnungswochenende Viadukt Museum Langwies

Description
on Saturday, Sunday
Opening Weekend Viaduct Museum Langwies In time for the 111th anniversary of the Langwies Viaduct, a new museum will be opened in the village of Langwies. With the viaduct – the world's first reinforced concrete bridge and the widest span railway bridge at the time of construction – Langwies possesses an architectural historical landmark of international significance. Instead of a single museum building, several historically significant spaces near the train station are being repurposed for the Viaduct Museum. This creates a multi-faceted museum with various stations, where the history of the Langwies Viaduct will be explored from different perspectives, making it accessible for locals and visitors alike. During the opening weekend from Saturday, July 12 to July 13, 2025, a culinary offering, musical performances, as well as competitions, games, and other entertainment options will create a lively atmosphere that authentically fits into the Schanfigg village of Langwies, providing a highlight for both young and old, and, fittingly for the viaduct itself, bridging gaps between railway enthusiasts, culture lovers, museum fans, friends of Schanfigg, and locals. In the lead-up to the opening weekend, daily content will be published on Instagram. Under the Instagram handle @viaduktmuseumlangwies, 111 posts featuring facts about the viaduct and the museum will be shared in honor of the 111th anniversary.
