Event Viamala
Excursion "Multi-talented forest"
Description
On an approx. 4 km long tour above Sufers we explore the "multi-talented forest". We look at traces of natural hazards such as avalanches, rockfalls, landslides and floods and learn interesting facts about the forest and its effects. What are the characteristics of a good protection forest? How can the protective effect be reconciled with timber extraction and the forest as a habitat and recreational space? What demands do people have on the forest? And what is the significance of climate change for forests? These questions will be answered by Regional Forest Engineer Cristina Fisler from the Office for Forests and Natural Hazards on the excursion.
