GROSSES KINO, HANDVERLESEN

With the closure of the last arthouse cinema, Chur loses a place for film art - and will gain a new one in the Postremise from 2026. A curated series shows eight selected feature films and documentaries with social relevance and artistic quality every year. Short introductions accompany the screenings, and one film per year is aimed specifically at a younger audience.

The curator is the film and theatre director Julian M. Grünthal. All films will be shown in the original version with German subtitles.

Paolo Sorrentino, the director of La Grande Bellezza and Youth, showed this masterpiece in Cannes in 2011. A poetic road movie through an America in which beauty, love and the abyss are very close together - without the dark side ever gaining the upper hand.
