Jazz Festival: Matthieu Michel Quartet

Our good friend, the trumpeter and grand seigneur of European jazz, personally supports selected musicians. In 2025, the prize goes to Matthieu Michel.

Michel is rightly regarded as one of Europe's best voices on the trumpet and flugelhorn. His masterful phrasing paired with subtle melodic lines set him apart. So it's time for an award from our side. Whether in groups led by Michel or as a sought-after collaborator for countless other projects, his playing has delighted audiences for almost 40 years. We congratulate him and take a bow.
