Paris in May 1968: A nine-year-old boy is looking forward to spending a few days with his grandparents, who live in an apartment with two fun-loving uncles – a visual artist and a young intellectual – and the extravagant great-grandmother from Odessa. While the legendary student protests are raging outside and his parents are standing on the barricades, he and his family are experiencing an unusual time. The country is upside down and the adults are beginning to deal with their own past. When another illustrious guest seeks refuge in his grandparents' apartment, his presence brings new insights and raises unexpected questions about family history.
