La petite fille aux allumettes

The bodies and flames of the company "En Show" bring to life a circus-like reinterpretation of Andersen's fairy tale "The Girl with the Match Sticks". The poignant text comes alive before the eyes of the audience thanks to a visual staging characterized by pyrotechnics and the sensitive interpretation of Eulalie Blanc and Jérémy Henchoz.

About the play
On New Year's Eve, a poor little girl wanders around barefoot and offers matches to passers-by who pay no attention to her. Shivering with cold, she lights one match after the other and sees gentle illusions appear in the small flames, warming and comforting her. The next day, the child is found lifeless in an alley, a smile on his lips.

In the course of the illusions, the audience is taken back to the girl's unhappy childhood. The play deals beautifully with serious themes such as injustice, poverty or death and still manages to do so without heaviness. Poetry is guaranteed. A special experience for every audience that touches each of us deep inside.
