Land and Water Logbook - Pictures by Hannes Egli in Valendas

From 2014 to 2018, Hannes Egli published a coloured drawing together with a short text every month for five years under the title "Land and Water Logbook". Subscribers to the graphic series received one folder per year. In the course of the year, it was filled with twelve pictures and twelve texts about the places in question.

The range of topics covered by the exhibition at the Gasthaus am Brunnen ranges from pure natural landscapes to weirs, bridges, harbour scenes and lively or lonely urban places. Hannes Egli's starting point is coloured vision. But he also includes the other sensory perceptions – smell, hearing, heat and cold, dryness and wetness – in his view of the world. Occasionally, the pictures raise the question of the meaning of civilisational interventions.

Hannes Egli lives in Muhen. His studio and painting school "Atelier Vive Couleur" are located in the Alte Bürsti Oberentfelden.
