With the Mathias Landtwing Quartet, clarinettist Mathias Landtwing has fulfilled his long-cherished wish to bring his music to the stage with his own band. Growing up in the countryside and influenced by brass and folk music, his musical language continued to develop – cosmopolitan, contemporary and oriented towards the pulse of the times.
In 2024, the quartet presented its first EP, and since then the band has been on the road, looking back on numerous successful concerts throughout Switzerland as well as engagements abroad.
The quartet's music combines Swiss folk music, alpine grooves, world sound and at the same time offers the four musicians plenty of room for improvisation. This creates a fresh, lively and independent sound.
With Florian Mächler (guitar), Patrick Sommer (bass) and Christian Zünd (drums), Mathias Landtwing has three outstanding musicians at his side, who shape the quartet with their musicality.
In a short time, the Mathias Landtwing Quartet has established itself as a promising address in the Swiss music scene – with growing appeal beyond the country's borders.
