NATURAMA Lecture: Birdsong – Timing is everything!

Birds sing particularly intensely in the early hours of the morning. Each bird species has its preferred time to start singing. And yet there are additional factors that influence the start of singing: street noise, temperature and season are just a few of them. Do human influences have a greater impact than natural ones? And how, for example, does altitude affect the birds' singing? Are there any other adaptations to life in the mountains?
