NATURAMA Lecture: National Park Botany in Transition

The Swiss National Park has been in existence for 111 years, and the flora in the park area has been researched for just as long. Even the founders asked themselves: How does total protection affect the plants? Will the forest return to former alpine pastures? What happens to plant diversity? It is precisely these questions that current research is dealing with. Raphael von Büren, botanist and doctoral student in the Swiss National Park, invites you on a journey through time and uses historical and current photos to show how both the plant world and its research have changed since the park was founded 111 years ago.
