Immerse yourself in the breathtaking forests and gorges formed by the Schranggabach. Enjoy the culinary delights prepared by the hostess and nature educator Nicole Ackermann. Let yourself be pampered by the fresh ingredients from their garden and benefit from their extensive knowledge of nature and horticulture. At the same time, you will actively contribute to the promotion of biodiversity in the Valzeiner Valley. Do you feel addressed?

The forest edge maintenance will take place on Saturday, August 16. We are freeing the forest edge area and the planted wild woody plants from beech growth and other competing species and removing the old grids and posts of the Stammschütze. Where necessary, we put up the pressed trees again.

It is possible to arrive in the afternoon/evening of the previous day to slow down and explore the area. Alternatively, you can arrive only for the day of forest edge maintenance and return home after the mission. If you want, you can stay one night after the mission to enjoy a refreshing swim in a secret place, let yourself be carried away by further surprises from Nicole and end the evening in a convivial atmosphere.

"Nature connects" is a participatory project with which the WWF promotes biodiversity in our cultural landscape. For nature, for agriculture, for society: Farmers work hand in hand with WWF volunteers: they plant hedges and orchards together, maintain meadows and pastures, install nesting boxes and fight neophytes.

Program
Arrival on 15 August: Arrival at 16:43 or 18:43 in Valzeina, church. There you will be picked up by Nicole. Dinner together and evening walk.

Forest edge maintenance on 16 August: Those who arrive on Saturday will be picked up by Nicole at 8:03 a.m. at the church in Valzeina. After a strengthening coffee with the group, we walk to the scene. After a 45-minute walk (ascent approx. 135 m, descent approx. 75 m) we reach the place of operation. Nicole explains the work to us and we get started. In between, there are many opportunities to improve the species knowledge of the native tree and shrub species. We enjoy lunch together on site. Freshly strengthened, it's back to work. After the work is done, you can travel home by bus at 6:04 p.m., or jump into the refreshingly cool water, for those who want to stay longer and spend the night with Nicole.
