Event Arosa Lenzerheide
Natureinsatz

Description
In a sociable group, we clear overgrown meadows so that the plants can develop well.
Our efforts benefit the public pastures. In return, we gain insight into the challenges of mountain agriculture and forestry in a heavily tourist-used area.
We meet at 1:00 PM at the Obertor parking lot in Parpan. Together we walk about 5 minutes up to the work area. Mainly large pruning shears are used for the task. With these, the young spruces are removed and valuable pastureland is preserved.
The work is primarily done by hand or with shears or hand saws. Depending on the group, large posts may also be dug in to separate the forest from the grazing livestock. Alfred Gantenbein, a forester, will explain the tasks to us.
After completing the work, we enjoy a delicious aperitif together in a sociable setting.
