On Sunday, 15 June, we will open our summer exhibition "Ernst Ludwig Kirchner. Between Painting and Photography".

The exhibition deals with the unique interweaving of painting and photography in the painter's oeuvre. It shows Kirchner's innovative use of photography – not necessarily as an independent medium of art production, but as a tool that precedes his paintings and decisively shaped his motifs, his painting style and his pictorial compositions.

By presenting a comprehensive overview of Kirchner's photographic work in conjunction with the painting collection of the Kirchner Museum Davos, the exhibition aims to shed light on Kirchner's contribution to the osmotic connection of these two mediums and to highlight how photography became an integral tool in the hands of a master painter.
