Segnesboden - UNESCO World Heritage Tectonic Arena Sardona

Alp Nagens -> Crap Grisch -> Segnesboden -> Segneshütte.

After a short ascent towards Grauberg, we turn off to a viewpoint on the Crap Grisch. We walk a part of the way directly on the Glarus main thrust, where 280-million-year-old rock lies on younger layers. We get a panoramic view of the main thrust and the Segnesboden. The history of the earth, mountain formation and rocks are the focal points of the first part of the excursion. After a picnic lunch, we descend to the Untere Segnesboden. On the Segnesboden we cross the meandering water and enjoy the beauty of this alpine floodplain and moorland of national importance. Past a waterfall, return via the Segneshütte back to Alp Nagens.
